Even when acting in a work role or on behalf of another person, you will be suggested to activate of Suomi.fi Messages
As of 12 May 2025, you will be suggested to activate Suomi.fi Messages when you strongly identify in the e-service of an authority. What this change aims for is to encourage people to switch to primarily electronic official mail. However, keep in mind the following if you to identify in a work role or act on behalf of another person or company.
Starting on 12 May 2025, all adults who have not yet activated Suomi.fi Messages will be prompted to do so. This prompt is shown upon strong identification in a public administration e-service, i.e. when you use Suomi.fi e-Identification.
Keep this in mind if you to identify in a work role or act on behalf of someone else
Please keep in mind that if you identify through Suomi.fi e-Identification in a work role or are acting on behalf of a company or another person, the suggestion to activate Suomi.fi Messages applies to your personal messages!
Many organisations use Suomi.fi e-Identification for their internal systems (e.g. patient information system, internal case management system). You will also see the suggestion to activate Suomi.fi Messages in these cases when you are identifying in the system you use for work.
When you accept the activation prompt of Suomi.fi Messages in these cases, it will be activated for you personally, not for the organisation, person or company who you are acting on behalf of.
